Skagway 2030 Kickoff
The Planning and Zoning Commission kicked off the Skagway 2030 Comprehensive Plan process Thursday, February 14. In addition to discussing the process of developing a comprehensive plan, the Commission also brainstormed how this planning process can be successful, what things we should avoid in the process, and what makes Planning and Zoning Commissioners proud to serve on the Commission and to call Skagway home.
Facilitated by Sheinberg Associates and Spruce Root, consultants assisting the Commission in developing the Skagway 2030 Comprehensive Plan, this meeting was the first of many working sessions that the Commission will participate in that members of the public are also highly encouraged to attend. This is your plan and your future.
We cannot prepare this plan without your ideas, insights, and opinions, so sign up for updates to learn more about the multiple, diverse, and convenient ways to make your voice heard throughout the project.
The next working session for Skagway 2030 is Thursday, February 28, at 5:30 p.m. at the Library, where we’ll discuss: “Population and Socio-Economic Trends—Opportunities and Challenges for Skagway's Future.”
