Parks and Recreation is a division of the Public Works Department, and is responsible for:
- Maintenance of parks and recreation facilities such as Seven Pastures, Centennial Park, Mollie Walsh Park and the SeaWalk parks
- Maintenance of the municipal trail systems such as Yakutania Point Trail and Lower and Upper Dewey Lake Trails
- Maintenance of public cemeteries
- Maintenance of the Dyea Flats campground
