2026 Skagway Independence Day Celebration includes:
THEME: “Voices of Skagway: 250+ Years of Resilience in the Klondike”
8:00 AM SKAGUAY NEWS DEPOT & BOOKS 5K RUN-AROUND – 3rd Ave & Broadway. Fun run/walk on a 5K course around historic Skagway. No entry fee. Self-timed. Register at News Depot bookstore starting at 7:30 am. Race begins at 8 am. Walkers may start earlier. Follow the signs and go at your own pace. Bring your own water. Focus on your health and have fun. Prize for best 4th of July costume! (Skaguay News Depot & Books)
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EXPLORE THE U.S. CONSTITUION - Broadway/alley between 2nd & 3rd Ave. Have you ever read the US Constitution? Explore this historical document on display next to the AB Hall. (Explore Skagway Visitor Department)
9:30 AM KIDDIE PARADE – NO NEED TO SIGN UP IN ADVANCE. Meet on 2nd & Broadway by 9:15 am to get your child on the list and line up. This ‘mini’ parade starts at 2nd Ave, goes north on Broadway to 5th Ave. (Explore Skagway Staff & Volunteers)
10:00 AM MAIN PARADE - PLEASE KEEP STREET CLEAR. NO NEED TO SIGN UP IN ADVANCE. Meet at the ferry terminal parking lot by 9:45am. Floats will travel north to 7th Ave, turn right towards City Hall, turn left on 9th Ave and travel back down Broadway to give everyone a second look! (Explore Skagway Staff & Volunteers)

11:00 AM - 2:00 PM MEATBALL SUBS, KABOBS & DESSERT FUNDRAISER – 4th Ave b/w Broadway & State St. Meatball subs, chicken kabobs, water, lemonade, dessert and baked goods.
